Great Southern Rail Trail

We drove out in the morning to Koonwara. We had a spot of lunch at the cafe by the bike path. The sky was blue. Air was fresh. Cool in the shade. Warm in the sun.

Kids were in good spirits. It was pleasant to watch them ride side by side whilst talking about computer games.

As usual, the formation was Kim, Thomas, Ella Mae, and I. The path was relatively flat. The trees were providing a lot of shade and protection from the wind.

There were visual interests along the way, towards Fish Creek and return, such as disused timber railway bridge, community garden, pastoral land, and old cuts-throughs for the old railway trains of the past.

We also spotted a blue tongue lizard. It was very weak and inactive. Possibly because it was the cool part of the day when we spotted him. I nudged it off the path with the help of a very long stick to prevent it from being flattened by a cyclist.

There were a couple of decent clean toilet facilities along the way. Water points were not as many though.
