Thomas' 100km Bicycle Ride in One Day Before Turning 10

As a mother, I have learnt so much from my children.

Thomas’ dream was to ride 100km in one day before he turned 10 years old. It was a challenge as we have not been riding long distances as often as we would like as we have many commitments on the weekends.

Nevertheless, we created an opportunity for it to happen. God must have been looking fondly upon his quest and provided the best weather condition.

I suggested that he should take is Louis Ganeau road bike but he didn't want to. He explained that his neck and back will be super sore if he rode long distances with it and preferred his Frog. I respected his choice as it was he who was riding, not me.

Kim and Thomas left at 8am and returned home at 6:30pm. They rode 103km with moving time of approximately 9 hours. They lunched at Noisette in Port Melbourne and snacked on sushi.

We were amazed by his determination and impressed with his follow through of a challenging task. I, as his mother, have much to learn. We are so proud of him.
