Tasmania :: Day 13 Sunrise Motel :: Deloraine to Devonport

As we didn’t see many wild animals, we went to Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary. We managed to pat a wombat, and see a group of Tasmanian Devils and a quoll.

Some of the older Tasmanian Devils had skin condition and had to be moisturised very often. I was surprised that the keepers were using their bare hands.

Thomas made me very nervous as he was patting one kangaroo as it was his friend. It didn’t help that I had recently read about the kangaroo that sliced into a person as it was annoyed.

Deloraine Apex Train park was a good place to run around and stretch legs.

We tasted mead at Seven Sheds Brewery while the children watched Charlie Brown Christmas for the thousandth time. The mead was delicious.

We did a little chocolate tasting at Anvers Chocolate. Their hot chocolate was delectable.

We stayed overnight at Sunrise Motel in Devonport that was across the way from where the port of Spirit of Tasmania. The website was better than the real thing. It was not a place you would like to send a postcard picture of. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. It was clean but the soundproofing was poor.
