1000 Steps Kokoda Memorial Walk

On a wintry blustery day, we ventured out to the Kokoda Memorial Walk which is also known as 1000 Steps. The weather was appropriately drizzly like tears rolling down the muddy hills.

The car park was quite full despite the weather. The bbq huts were quiet. Some walkers were obviously regulars which was great to see as this place is well facilitated with good signage, trails, cleanliness, cafe, playground, water points, seats, and toilets. The cleanliness made it much more pleasant experience too.

The children did well going to the top. Throughout the walk, my thoughts were with those who were willing to give up their lives for our freedom...and for their families who should be proud of their brave deed...and those who were selfless and assisted them.
