How we pack self-inflating mats?

We have Kathmandu self-inflating mats (two different lengths). We only roll these up when transporting from one place to another. We do not store them rolled. These are not the lightest or smallest mats but for the price, it is quite reasonable. The photo below also includes the self-inflating pillow (on the left).

Method
Lay mat flat (bottom of mat facing down, top of mat facing up). Valve furthest away from you.

Keep valve open

Roll from the feet towards the head of the mat with two hands.(the valve is located on the head end)
Push down as you roll.
If and when you take your hands off from rolling, use one of your knees to hold the roll down.

Once you get to the head of the mat, hold down the mat with one of your knees.
Close valve
Fetch the mat bag (I always keep this nearby while I roll as I find it easier to manage. You do not want to be fumbling for a bag and the roll unraveling in the process)
Put the mat into the bag
Pull the toggle
Pull on the two straps to tighten and further compress the mat
